(c’65-’68) Frank Press (guitar/mandolin/vocals), Pete Lambert (violin/vocals)
The members of this Farnborough based folk duo both attended Salesian College, where Lambert played fiddle in the school orchestra. The pair could often be found performing at the Farnborough Folk Club, held at The Old Ford, Farnborough. It was at this club that Geoff Barker compered a session recorded by Reverb Records and released as Live! at the Farnborough Folk Club, which was released in ’68. This included two tracks by Frank & Pete on side two: The British Army and Barn Dance.
Press and Lambert would eventually team up with two other Farnborough Folk Club regulars to form Canticle.
Press, who had been head of a middle school in Norwich, passed in February 2000, of cancer. Lambert emigrated to Australia.
