(c’70s) Edward Mitchel (guitar), Mick “Slim” Franklin (vocals/guitar), ? “Olly” Holbrow (guitar) and Nigel Hambley (drums)

This Woking / West Byfleet band, named for guitarist Franklin, are known to have been booked to play Bunters. Guildford by manager Bob Huet in the ’70s. The Slim Franklin Band made the paper when their van stalled and burst into flame on the M1 near Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, enroute to a gig at RAF Greatworth, Northamptonshire. Mervyn Joseph had replaced Hambley on drums sometime before the M1 incident and remained until the band folded.
