Several years after Backstage Pass, Barringer and Hitchens formed ERA. When ERA first played The Cricketers, Westfield they opened to about 30 people in the bar, not a good omen for a happy Bernie; but by the time it ended around 200 were crowded into the venue.

The band appeared a few times after that at the Cricks as well as playing further afield, such as Worthing. Graham Tull replaced Cundy on guitar and Darran Bridge became the bands third drummer around late ’94.,
